Shown below are poker hands, from highest to lowest.

Royal Flush The 5 highest cards, all of the same suit. This is actually just the highest possible Straight Flush (below). Shown is a "Spade Royal Flush." |

|
Straight Flush Five consecutive cards, all of the same suit. This is a "Ten high straight flush." |
|
|
|
Four of a Kind Also known as Quads, this is all 4 cards of a given value. "Quad kings" are shown. |
|
|
|
Full House A three of a kind and a pair. Whatever you have three of is said to be full of the pair. In other words, this is "sixes full of queens." |
|
|
|
Flush Five non-consecutive cards, all of the same suit. This is a "club flush, ace high." |
|
|
|
Straight Five cards in consecutive order, but not of the same suit. An ace can be either high or low for a straight. Shown is a "six high straight." |
|
|
|
Three of a Kind Also known as Trips, this is any three cards of the same value. This hand is "trip eights." |
|
|
|
Two Pair Two different pairs (see below). This is "two pair, kings and queens." |
|
|
|
Pair Two cards of the same value. This hand is a pair of Jacks. |
|
|
|
High Card If none of the hands above applies, then the highest card in the hand plays. This example is "king high". |
